Baseball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Academy for Academic Excellence hadn't beaten Academy of Careers & Exploration on the road since February 26, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Eagle. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bryson Lilly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lilly was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Conner Clancy was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Carmona, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

The win (which was Academy for Academic Excellence's third in a row) raised their record to 7-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Academy for Academic Excellence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagle: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
