Basketball Recap: Delano Comes Up Short

Delano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 69-30 loss at the hands of the Dinuba Emperors. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Delano's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jotham Amodo, who posted 13 points. That was a full 43.3% of Delano's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hugo Rivas, who put up six points.

Delano's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Dinuba, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delano will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shafter at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Dinuba will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Kingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
