Basketball Game Preview: Ashley Screaming Eagle vs. West Brunswick Trojans

The Ashley Screaming Eagle will head out on the road to take on the West Brunswick Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Ashley is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against New Hanover on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ashley was outmatched by New Hanover and fell 79-29. The Screaming Eagle were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-13.

Despite their defeat, Ashley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Jarrell, who posted six points, was perhaps the best of all.

Meanwhile, West Brunswick came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Topsail by a score of 62-52 on Friday.

West Brunswick now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Ashley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Ashley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against West Brunswick in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
