Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Philip Barbour

There's no place like home for Philip Barbour, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the South Harrison Hawks by a score of 9-5 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

Grant Harris tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kale Wolfe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Mosesso was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Philip Barbour's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for South Harrison, they moved to 22-14 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Philip Barbour will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
