Basketball Recap: Cylin Tate Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pflugerville

There's no place like home for Hutto, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Pflugerville Panthers by a score of 60-52 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Hippos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hutto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cylin Tate, who went 9 of 16 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Tate has posted since back in November. Another player making a difference was Ronald Willis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Hutto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Pflugerville, their record now sits at 12-8.

Hutto will challenge Stony Point at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stony Point knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matches -- so hopefully Hutto likes a good challenge. As for Pflugerville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-38 win against McCallum on the 28th.
