Baseball Game Preview: David Crockett Pioneers vs. Unicoi County Blue Devils

The David Crockett Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Unicoi County Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

David Crockett came up short against Tennessee on Monday, falling 8-1.

David Crockett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Greenway, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Unicoi County had just enough and edged out Sullivan East 6-4 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Kaden Cutlip made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kolby Jones, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

David Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Unicoi County, their record now sits at 14-7.

David Crockett couldn't quite finish off Unicoi County in their previous matchup back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
