Football Game Preview: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada vs. Woodland Wolverines

The Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada will challenge the Woodland Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Atlantic Collegiate Academy, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Atlantic Collegiate Academy beat Kingstree 21-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Armada.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy can attribute much of their success to Semaj Wilson, who rushed for 96 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Those 96 rushing yards gave Wilson a new career-high. Quay Vereen helped out on the ground, rushing for 93 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Atlantic Collegiate Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Woodland's offense. They were outmatched by Timberland and fell 31-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost three in a row.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's record is now 4-6. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
