Softball Recap: Fieldcrest Comes Up Short

Fieldcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the El Paso-Gridley Titans, falling 17-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 12-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Fieldcrest's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for El Paso-Gridley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fieldcrest will face off against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for El Paso-Gridley, they will challenge Clinton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Maroons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
