Softball Recap: Mesquite Comes Up Short

Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arcadia Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Mesquite saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Cuevas, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Arcadia, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8-1 record this season.

While Mesquite had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
