6A District 13 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Bayside moved up to 126 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 13. The Bears were able to make the jump by defeating Seabreeze 34-30.
This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Eau Gallie's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Commodores /Ftg feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Torrence Brown has thrown for 52 yards and one touchdown this season, while Daneil Kroupa has two catches for 34 yards. Jordan Benton leads the league in rushing with 124 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bayside takes on the Panthers. At the moment, Derek Smith's team is in fourth, while Heritage is in first.
The Bears and the Sandcrabs played the most hotly contested game in 6A District 13 this week, with the Bears eventually emerging with a 34-30 victory.
