Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Michael the Archangel). Their defense stepped up to hand the Barstow Knights an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what St. Michael the Archangel needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

St. Michael the Archangel's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Barstow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, St. Michael the Archangel and Barstow will both be playing Lincoln College Prep the next time they take the pitch. The Knights will host the Blue Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Guardians will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
