Basketball Recap: Fairfield Falls to Oxford in First Game of Season

Fairfield had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Oxford Wildcats by a score of 63-61 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since December 12, 2024.

Kellen Green went supernova For Oxford., dropping a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Green has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Gaither, who posted eight points and 16 rebounds.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will challenge Stafford at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oxford, they will square off against South Haven at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
