Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Northside Christian's Winning Streak

Northside Christian dropped their record down to 10-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 16-5 to the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-11.

Summer Mack and Macy SMith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mack went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Mack has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Gabriela Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Foundation Christian Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Foundation Christian Academy's side, Makayla Howard and McKay Barron did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Barron went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Howard has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Graison Polizzi, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Northside Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-10 win against Cambridge Christian on the 17th. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 14-12 loss against Bradenton Christian on the 17th.
