Softball Recap: Harnett Central Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Harnett Central won against Terry Sanford last Friday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Trojans blew past the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls 16-1. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Golden Bulls: they've now won seven in a row.

Brooklyn Sears was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Sears was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harnett Central got a massive performance out of Lauren Faulkner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Faulkner has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Haleigh Moss, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Harnett Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .696. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Harnett Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for E.E. Smith, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Harnett Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Golden Bulls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
