Basketball Recap: Marsing Comes Up Short

Marsing entered their match against New Plymouth on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Marsing Huskies were outmatched by the New Plymouth Pilgrims and fell 58-28. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Pilgrims are ranked 20th).

Raylynn Vanosdall was Marsing's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Lily Thoene held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Marsing's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for New Plymouth, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Marsing wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-39 victory against Fruitland on the 14th. As for New Plymouth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-40 loss against Grace on the 13th.
