Football Game Preview: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. Discovery Spartans

The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls will face off against the Discovery Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (LaBelle has seven straight victories, Discovery has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While LaBelle's win against Avon Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cowboys/Cowgirls had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 17-14. The 17-point effort marked the Cowboys/Cowgirls' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Marquay Bradshaw, who rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. LaBelle also got help from Christopher Hernandez Jr., who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: LaBelle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

LaBelle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Arrie Davis Jr..

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Discovery's offense. They were beaten by Tenoroc 62-0 on Friday.

LaBelle's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Discovery, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
