Soccer Game Preview: Mayfair vs. Riverside Prep

The Mayfair Monsoons will take on the Riverside Prep Silver Knights in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayfair's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mayfair fell victim to Schurr and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside Prep). Everything went their way against Academy of Careers & Exploration on Friday as Riverside Prep made off with a 6-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Silver Knights needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Mayfair's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Riverside Prep, they moved to 4-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
