Leander had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Aliyah Allen and Rachel Grundei did most of the damage at the plate: Allen went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Grundei went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Allen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Lee, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Leander's win bumped their record up to 29-9. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 29-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Leander by a score of 9-8 later that day.
