Baseball Recap: Greens Farms Academy Dragons vs. Brunswick School Bruins
Greens Farms Academy had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Brunswick School Bruins, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Tuesday.
Greens Farms Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Blitzer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for Brunswick School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Brunswick School's side, Johnny Gally tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Gally has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Michael Marini was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Montanez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
