The Mt. Shasta Bears will venture away from home to challenge the East Nicolaus Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Mt. Shasta took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Weed with a sharp 3-0 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
While Mt. Shasta won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 26-24.

Mt. Shasta's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaley Lanier, who had 23 digs, and Leighton Morley, who had 18 digs. Lanier has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 28 times she's played.
Meanwhile, East Nicolaus got the win against Durham on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
East Nicolaus' got stronger as the match went on, holding Durham to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-15.
Mt. Shasta better focus on containing Ashlynn Tagala and Sydney Anderson as the pair were huge in East Nicolaus' win. Tagala had 12 digs and four aces, while Anderson had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Anderson has posted over her last six contests.
Mt. Shasta's record is now 17-7-2. As for East Nicolaus, their record now sits at 31-5.
Mt. Shasta might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from East Nicolaus in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
