Cedar Ridge waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Williams Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Red Wolves, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mia Best made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kimber Shambley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Reagan Simmons was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Cedar Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cedar Ridge's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Williams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Cedar Ridge will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Southern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th. As for Williams, they have already played their next matchup, a 24-7 loss against Person on the 1st.
