Baseball Recap: West Clermont Wins Going Away Against Milford

West Clermont barely beat Milford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Eagles 13-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

West Clermont got a great performance from Caden Yearwood as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Yearwood also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Wolves are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Speranza, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Joe Lammers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

West Clermont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

West Clermont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Milford, they dropped their record down to 12-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, West Clermont will face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Milford will be paying especially close attention to the Wolves' game: after the Wolves face off against the Indians, they'll take on Milford again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
