Soccer Game Preview: Corinth Holders vs. Willow Spring

The Corinth Holders Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Willow Spring Storm at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Corinth Holders is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals last Wednesday, they were much more limited against Fuquay - Varina last Thursday. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 1-0. Corinth Holders haven't had much luck with Fuquay - Varina recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Cleveland kept up with Willow Spring until halftime last Wednesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Storm blew past the Rams 3-0. Willow Spring haven't had any issues with Cleveland recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jordan Murdoch and Emerson Leigh scored all three of Willow Spring's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Willow Spring's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Corinth Holders, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-3.
