The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes are taking a road trip to challenge the Cooper City Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pompano Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Pompano Beach managed to slip by Cypress Bay the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Pompano Beach lost 9-3 to Cypress Bay on Wednesday. The Golden Tornadoes' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Gianni Carbone made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cooper City and South Plantation, and Cooper City kept the tradition alive. Cooper City walked away with a 4-1 win over South Plantation on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Paladins: they've now won three in a row.

Adrian Graterol was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Dylan Goris was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Pompano Beach now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Cooper City, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pompano Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cooper City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Pompano Beach couldn't quite finish off Cooper City in their previous meeting back in February and fell 5-3. Can Pompano Beach avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
