Basketball Recap: Penquis Valley Takes a Loss

Penquis Valley lost against Penobscot Valley back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Penquis Valley Patriots were outmatched by the Penobscot Valley Howlers and fell 99-21. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Howlers are ranked second).

Penquis Valley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Penobscot Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

The future could be bright for both Penquis Valley and Penobscot Valley: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Penquis Valley will try to hand Stearns their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Penobscot Valley will look to extend Piscataquis' three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
