Baseball Game Preview: Bradford Red Devils vs. Stewart County Rebels

The Bradford Red Devils will square off against the Stewart County Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Bradford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Camden Central.

Austin Skerrett looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Bradford let Brodie McDaniel and Landon Hagan run wild. McDaniel scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Hagan scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Stewart County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Houston County on Thursday. Stewart County blew past Houston County 13-3.

Bradford's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Stewart County, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
