Basketball Game Preview: Pine City Dragons vs. Proctor Rails

The Pine City Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Proctor Rails at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pine City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 68 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Mora on Thursday. They took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 74-25. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Proctor lost 67-44 to Barnum on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rails have suffered against the Bombers since December 22, 2014.

Proctor has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Pine City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Pine City strolled past Proctor in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 73-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
