Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Grafton couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Loudoun County Captains by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Clippers in their meetings with the Captains: they've now lost six in a row.

Grafton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Loudoun County work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 27-25, 23-25, 15-13.

Kenzie Smith paced Grafton's offense, picking up 21 kills. Smith got some help from Olivia Dela Cruz and her 22 assists. Finally, Smith was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Grafton fell to 24-1. As for Loudoun County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
