Football Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Boyd Anderson's Winning Streak

Boyd Anderson and St. Thomas Aquinas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Boyd Anderson had to settle for second. They lost 22-0 to the Raiders. The shutout was out of character for the Cobras seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Ariana Stoveall threw for 98 yards while completing 75% of her passes. Jakira Dennis was her top target, picking up 43 receiving yards.

A big part of St. Thomas Aquinas' win came down to the chemistry between Sherice Newton and her top target Emmi Merhi. Newton threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while Merhi picked up 97 receiving yards and three scores. Merhi showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 66 yards.
