Softball Recap: Brighton Takes a Loss

Brighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plymouth Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kendall Peckens stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Libby Carah was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Plymouth, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Dundee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plymouth, they will face off against St. Mary Catholic Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
