Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Titusville

While Titusville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Eisenhower Knights with a sharp 14-1 win on Friday. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Jimmy Becker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Brody Sellen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Blake Ross was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Titusville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eisenhower only posted a batting average of .083.

The victory keeps Titusville at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.8 runs this season. As for Eisenhower, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Titusville will venture away from home to square off against Sharon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Titusville's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Eisenhower, they will head out to challenge Northwestern at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
