Steele Canyon has gone a perfect 8-0 against El Capitan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will host the Vaqueros at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Steele Canyon sitting on six straight victories and El Capitan on four.

Steele Canyon's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Dorsey 28-0. Considering the Cougars have won five games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Among those leading the charge was Gavin Caha, who threw for 108 yards and two TDs.

El Capitan hadn't beaten West Hills on the road since September 21, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Vaqueros walked away with a 16-3 win over the Wolf Pack.

El Capitan's win came from a few key players Steele Canyon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brody Copp, who rushed for 72 yards and one score. Those 72 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something El Capitan proved: they limited West Hills to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Brewin Ford stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss). El Capitan's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.53 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.73 on average over their last five games.

El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Steele Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Steele Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against El Capitan in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 19-13 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Vaqueros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
