There was early excitement for Valley Center after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Westview who ended up claiming the real prize. Joeisha Ryan Tirado and Braylon Mitchell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ryan Tirado gained 96 total yards and a touchdown, while Mitchell threw for 138 yards and three TDs. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Matthew Guimond was nothing short of spectacular for Westview: he threw for 311 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave Guimond a new career-high. Charles Klingkammer was another key player, rushing for 87 yards and a pair of scores.

Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Westview, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
