Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of CELINDA GARZA and JAYMIE TEN-CATE Lead Kaufer to Victory

Kaufer's tournament run continued when they took on Weslaco East on Thursday. The Seahawks skirted past the Wildcats 33-31.

Kaufer was led to victory by JAYMIE TEN-CATE and CELINDA GARZA. TEN-CATE posted nine points along with five boards and five steals, while GARZA had eight points. Another player making a difference was ALYSSA BURSIEL, who scored four points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Kaufer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Kaufer now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Weslaco East, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Kaufer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-18 win against Santa Maria on the 21st. As for Weslaco East, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pace at 7:30 p.m. on December 9.
