Basketball Recap: Zeke Case's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ocean View over Buena Park

Ocean View lost against Buena Park back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ocean View Seahawks fell just short of the Buena Park Coyotes by a score of 66-64. While the Seahawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Coyotes 19-15 in the first quarter.

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zeke Case, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Jefferson, who posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, Ocean View was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Ocean View dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Buena Park, they moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

When Ocean View and Buena Park next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Ocean View will try to stop Westminster's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Buena Park will try to stop Kennedy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
