Softball Recap: Grayslake Central Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

The Grayslake Central Rams got the win against the Lake Zurich Bears on Thursday by a conclusive 13-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Evie Evert spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Kate Davies was a standout: she fired off two home runs and one double while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Grayslake Central pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lake Zurich, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Looking ahead, Grayslake Central is taking a road trip to challenge Grayslake North at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Zurich, they will be playing at home against Hersey at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
