Basketball Recap: Geneva County Comes Up Short

Geneva County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 90-42 to the Providence Christian Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Eagles are ranked 61st).

Geneva County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Providence Christian, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Geneva County has already played their next match (against Headland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Providence Christian will square off against Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Providence Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
