Football Recap: Wills Point Takes a Loss

Wills Point had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it four. They fell 27-20 to the Ferris Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 42-40 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wills Point still got an impressive performance from BRIAN MARTINEZ, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only five carries, and also caught one touchdown. JAX KING also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.

As for Ferris, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games.

Qui-Darwin Cotton was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 79 yards on only six carries, and also picked up 65 receiving yards.

Wills Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ferris, they will challenge Krum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
