Baseball Recap: McLean County Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Daviess County, McLean County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lyon County Lyons by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Jaelin Groves, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 matchups. Brooks Lynam was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

McLean County's win bumped their record up to 23-11. As for Lyon County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McLean County will venture away from home to square off against Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyon County, they will challenge Paducah Tilghman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
