Softball Recap: George Wythe Takes a Loss

George Wythe had taken Grayson County down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Maroons came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 back in April.

Jadelyn Faulkner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Ashley Layne was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

George Wythe's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Grayson County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. George Wythe will face off against rival Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Grayson County is set to challenge their familiar foe Galax at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
