The Clinton Dark Horses are taking a road trip to challenge the Southwest Onslow Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clinton will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Heide Trask on Friday. The Dark Horses breezed past the Titans to the tune of 52-21. The game marked the Dark Horses' most dominant victory of the season.

Miles McCallop
| 10/24/25 vs Heide Trask | 177.1 |
| 09/05/25 vs Wallace-Rose Hill | 145.6 |
| 10/03/25 @ Pender | 144.9 |
| 10/10/25 vs South Lenoir | 112.9 |
| 08/29/25 vs Midway | 99 |
Clinton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Miles McCallop out in front who threw for 127 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 10-for-10 passing. The dominant performance also gave McCallop a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Gavin Miller was in the mix as well, providing Clinton with two scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Clinton proved: they limited Heide Trask to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. The Dark Horses' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.57 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 6.63 on average over their last five games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Southwest Onslow ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 14-8 W over South Lenoir. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Clinton better keep an eye on Trenstin 'Ton' Bolden. He was instrumental in Southwest Onslow's win, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Clinton's record is now 4-5. As for Southwest Onslow, their record now sits at 2-6.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Clinton has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 148.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Southwest Onslow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 166.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Clinton against Southwest Onslow in their previous meeting back in August of 2016, as the team secured a 52-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dark Horses since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
