Baseball Game Preview: Westminster Academy Lions vs. Deerfield Beach Bucks

The Westminster Academy Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Deerfield Beach Bucks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Deerfield Beach took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Westminster Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Westminster Academy turned things around against Archbishop Carroll on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 7-2.

Calvin Martin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Westminster Academy is 6-2 when Martin posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Bryant Aybar also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach didn't have quite enough to beat Highlands Christian on Tuesday and fell 4-2. The Bucks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westminster Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Deerfield Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
