Softball Game Preview: Victoria Soto Wolves vs. Agricultural Science Cyclones

The Victoria Soto Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Agricultural Science Cyclones at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Victoria Soto took a 21-run loss the last time they faced off against Solorio, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Sun Warriors on Monday.

Agricultural Science came out on top against Goode STEM Academy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Cyclones were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Knights. The Cyclones might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Qyanna Pinckney made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lola Hendrickson was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Ariana Alcantar was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Agricultural Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .562 or higher in three consecutive games.

Victoria Soto's record is now 3-4-1. As for Agricultural Science, their record now sits at 6-4.
