Baseball Recap: Capistrano Valley Comes Up Short

Capistrano Valley lost against Aliso Niguel back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars fell 6-3 to the Wolverines.

Spencer Korzep was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Landon Stewart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Reed Hitzler, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Capistrano Valley dropped their record down to 9-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Aliso Niguel, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

While Capistrano Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
