Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with First Colonial

Grace Christian is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of First Colonial. The Crusaders took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jimmy Alfonsin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Grace Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for First Colonial, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Grace Christian has already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 15th. As for First Colonial, they will challenge Southwest Guilford at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.9, the Cowboys 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
