Mifflinburg snaps three-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Mifflinburg Wildcats vs. Montoursville Warriors

If the Mifflinburg Wildcats were riding high off their 60-37 takedown of the Central Columbia Bluejays last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mifflinburg fell to Montoursville 59-53. Mifflinburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montoursville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Among those leading the charge was Gavin Cott, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Wyatt Fry was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Mifflinburg's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Montoursville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Mifflinburg will head out on the road to face off against Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Loyalsock Township's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Montoursville, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Central Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. Central Columbia is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
