Oskaloosa had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Mission Valley Vikings get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won three matches in a row.
Lily Pullen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lydia Turner was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Oskaloosa's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Mission Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
