Baseball Recap: Madisonville Takes a Loss

Madisonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palestine Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered against the Wildcats since April 19, 2019.

Madisonville's loss dropped their record down to 13-16-1. As for Palestine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-8-1.

Madisonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palestine, they will venture away from home to take on Lumberton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.5, the Raiders 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
