Softball Recap: Cole Has No Trouble Against Randolph

Cole won the last time they faced Randolph and things went their way on Tuesday too. Cole blew past Randolph 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

The team relied heavily on Deborah Garza, who fired off six RBI, four doubles, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katherine Zinnante, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Cole always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph only posted an OBP of .238.

Cole's win bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cole will challenge rival Jourdanton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Randolph is set to face off against their familiar foe Marion at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
