Basketball Recap: South Florence's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Florence waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Lake City Panthers 40-26. That's more bragging rights for the Bruins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Harmony Bostick was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points and seven rebounds. Allyson Watson was another key player, posting six points along with five boards and five steals.

South Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Lake City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayda Burgess, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyra Jones, who had four points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

South Florence's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lake City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

South Florence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-21 victory against Conway on the 10th. As for Lake City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-16 win against Hannah-Pamplico on the 6th.
